Expense Packet

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using the Expense Packet iOS app, including the Expense Packet Unlimited one-time purchase.

Last updated: 15 September 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By downloading, accessing or using Expense Packet, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Expense Packet does

Expense Packet collects receipts into a claim and builds a packet from them: a PDF whose first page is a numbered cover table, followed by each receipt on its own page, together with a matching CSV file. It is a record-keeping and document-building tool.

The app can suggest a date, merchant, amount and currency by reading a receipt on your device. These are suggestions. They are marked for you to check, and you are responsible for correcting them before you submit a claim.

3. Purchases

Packets for your first two claims are free. After that, a single one-time purchase called Expense Packet Unlimited unlocks packets for every further claim, custom categories and claim duplication.

4. No guaranteed outcome

Expense Packet does not guarantee that a claim will be approved, reimbursed or accepted by any employer, client, accountant, insurer or tax authority. Whether a claim is paid is decided entirely by whoever receives it.

5. Not professional advice

Expense Packet is not accounting, tax or legal advice. Categories, tax fields and conversion rates are places for you to record your own figures. The app never fetches an exchange rate: any rate in a packet is one you typed, and the packet says so.

6. Your content and your responsibility

You are responsible for the receipts you add and the details you enter, and for making sure a claim you submit is accurate and honest. Do not use the app to create false, misleading or fraudulent records.

7. Your data and backups

Everything the app stores is kept on your device. There is no account and no server, so if you delete the app or lose the device, data that has not been exported is gone. The app can export a backup file, and keeping one is your responsibility.

8. Privacy

Expense Packet has no accounts, no advertising identifiers and no server run by us. How the camera, photo import, on-device text recognition, storage, purchases and deletion work is explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Availability and changes

The app may be updated, changed or withdrawn from the App Store. These terms may be updated, and the current version will always be posted on this page with its date.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, rejected or delayed claims, or indirect or consequential losses arising from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.
